As a student of Angela Cunnigham's School for Talented Thaumaturgy, 'Ariel' has been there ever since she was a little girl and will be staying there until she's twenty-four or proven herself as a competent Water-Type. Living in a world where magic -- known insistently as 'Thaumaturgy' there -- is both an accepted and loathed aspect of a person should they have it, it is vital for her to master her talent if she wants to be part of society again. So she studies, exercises and dreams of the day she gets to meet people beyond her large school.

But as any world, there is always politics and with Thaumaturgy, and its risk of corrupting the user into the unstable Chaos-Type, thrown into the mix, there will be some mishaps along the way. Be it in the form of the mysterious government-funded Project ABYSS rearing its ugly head at long last to the prejudice and bigotry of users reaching a fever pitch where Ariel resides due to a series of smear campaigns and incidents, one thing is for certain: The young girl is living in some interesting times. With her caught in the middle of it.
